Jil WYID: How would you describe your designs, and what would you say is your signature style?

Queen KK WYID: Random. I really don’t think I have a signature style in that sense that someone could pick out my work, like some of the awesome YoVille designers we are so fond of. I have a wide rage of totally different types of styles, and enjoy doing everything from the elegant to the silly and the pictograph rooms.

Jil WYID: On the contrary Queen, I can recognize your rooms by your imaginative and innovative uses of items including ‘free gifts’. I would say that is your signature style. What are your favorite ‘free gifts’ and how have you incorporated them into your designs?

Queen KK WYID: We all end up with so many of the free gift items that end up sitting in our inventory or a room somewhere. I wanted to find ways to use some of them in my rooms. A lot of them will sit in the black area so they are easy to use for borders or creating a shape. My favorite free gift is definitely the fireplace tools. They are perfect for awesome fences, balcony railing, and stair railings which add a nice touch to any room. The best free gift items we have had for creating pictograph rooms are the one with solid colors and small enough to form into whatever you like, for example the candy apples, egg rolls, and they sky juices. I find that the color of the item is far more important than what the item actually is when doing these types of rooms.

Jil WYID: What is your creative process and how do you prepare a room before you start?

Queen KK WYID: When I am doing a traditional room, I usually decide on a color first, or pick out a favorite piece from a theme (which I have probably already bought) and then design the room around it. When I am working on a pictograph room, I pick the room carefully. If the items I am working with will mostly sit anywhere then I will choose a very small room and hide the walls with the picture. If the items will only sit on the floors I find one with more floor space

Jil WYID: How do you feel about the accelerated pace in which New Themes and Items are released in YoVille? What are your thoughts of the New ‘Classic Hollywood’ Theme?

Queen KK WYID: I love having new items often, but, lately it seems like we barely have time to get used to one theme and come up with ideas for them before there is a whole new set. It is beginning to be a bit overwhelming I think …in a bittersweet way…of course.

There are some really great pieces in the ‘Classic Hollywood’ theme. It’s not my favorite, but even pieces which I dislike can be used in ways to create a beautiful room. I see the things I really dislike for example, the ‘Waterfall Hideaway’ house…as a challenge and try to make them beautiful.

Jil WYID: How will you inspire yourself while creating ‘Classic Hollywood’ rooms accordingly with the new theme? What are your favorite must have items?

Queen KK WYID: I think instead of doing ‘Classic Hollywood’ rooms or a house I will take the pieces I really like and use them with other themes for a more eclectic look. My favorite items available right now are the rock walls and pillars. I also love the new art deco lights in the Classic Hollywood theme and that fireplace is a great size and the movement of the fire is really cool. I will be using that for sure.

Jil WYID: What are your views of the inflated and exorbitant prices of recently released homes, collectibles, and items?

Queen KK WYID: Honestly, I think that Zynga is losing potential players because new people start to play and say…”oh this is cool! … now, let me go to the store with my 350 coins ….and then …..OMG…I can’t even buy a couch without Yocash” or “I will have to work for two weeks to buy that new luxury sink.” I think a lot move on before really getting started. I know a lot of veterans of the game that are feeling the pinch as well. Some of the regular store items now cost more than than the original price of some of the rarest collectibles.

Jil WYID: Please share with our readers a few of your design tips.

Queen KK WYID: Hmmm…try to vision things as other items. For example, the new stainless steel trash cans make an elegant railing when seated next to each other, or fence posts with something between them. The enchanted scrolls are good for creating a walkway or a sectioned ground area or a railing around your leveled rooms, and the china plates would make really decorative stepping stones in a landscaped yard.

When you have a idea for a room, but don’t know where to start, Google it, search the images to get ideas.

When doing a color themed room, I go through the stores, even the old stuff we have forgotten about and find everything in that color or tone to see what it would look like or if it would be usable in the room.

I like to “play with items”. I will pick a few interesting things and put them in a room and flip flop them and put them together and see what I can come up with. Sometimes some good ideas are born that way.

Jil WYID: What new themes and styles of items would you like to see released in Yoville?

Queen KK WYID: I would love to see the styles I use in my own home…and I’m a huge fan of the Tuscan Style with lots of dark carved and ornate woods and wrought iron and pressed metals. I’d be in YoHeaven…:)
